five nights

 reykjavik

day one

+stay | hotel hafnarfjordur, a four star minimalist hotel w+ a modern aesthetic, very reminiscent of a set location in a wes anderson film. if you're planning to stay a couple of days i strongly advise renting a vehicle to explore the countryside. free parking, breakfast buffet + wifi are included.

+explore | there is a bus stop right outside of the hotel so hop on and explore downtown reykjavik. the area offers various adorable coffee shoppes, retail fronts and reykjavik's art museum.

+dine | harpa's smurstodin, a sandwich shoppe, located on the first level of the concert hall with panaramic views of the harbour.

+experience | escape in the warm waters of reykjavik's blue lagoon, this natural geothermal pool is an oasis of relaxation surrounded by nature. enjoy everything the facility has to offer from spa treatments, water massages, private baths, etc. regarding the facility, just like the water, the floors are heated and they serve champagne and sushi! please note, pre-booking is required. if you’re traveling from mid-may to mid-august the sun only sets for three hours per day, so basically there is light for at least twenty hours per day. in the midwinter there is only five hours of effective daylight.

paris

day two

+stay | le pigalle, a boutique hotel located in the moulin rouge district, the lobby is equipped with a stripper pole for their weekly burlesque show, music plug-in stations, cool matchbooks and condoms. an ipad with playlist curated by locale djs is included in every room to create the perfect parisian vibes. the rooms are simple, comfortable and full of domestic touches like photographs by locale photographers amongst other parisian souveniers.

+see | foundation louis vuitton, this architectural gem designed by the world renowned, frank gehry, encompasses a magical play on warped glass in unimagined shapes. visitors are also awarded wonderful panoramic views from the building's various terraces.

+experience | from a fashion enthusiast perspective paris represents high-end fashion and chanel is just that. in undergrad i studied fashion, so an opportunity to visit chanel's flagship located at 31 rue cambon is a moment! not only did i visit the store but i arranged a sit down w+ a coco chanel historian. we chatted about the life of coco over champagne, i snapped a photo on the famous chanel staircase, purchased my second chanel piece and draped myself in gems from the chanel fine jewelry boutique in vendome place.

day three

+experience | dine above paris in the city's most desired landmark. le jules verne restaurant offers a dramatic view, romantic ambiance and an unforgettable contemporary french five course cuisine + wine pairing menu.

day four

+eurorail | take scenic route speeding through the countryside to the dutch capital.

+stay | amsterdam hotels are cool but airbnb presented the best option for being able to chill + smoke at our home base.

+experience | i suggest staying away from the touristy coffee shoppes and venture out into the neighborhoods. the experience is less intense and the quality is better.

                                                                               boere jongens coffee shop

                                                                              boere jongens coffee shop

+dine | order the crab legs at the seafood bar. the end!

day five

+culture | this twenty seater authentic thai restaurant was recommended by viceland's f*ck, that's delicious and it did not disappoint. this place gets packed early so be prepared to wait up to thirty minutes for a seat.

+art | moco museum has a wide range of modern contemporary art. the museum has over ninety original pieces by british street artist banksy and american pop art pioneer andy warhol.

+art | the sex museum of amsterdam is the world's first sex museum. the museum explores sensual love through the ages, displaying an extensive collection of erotic paintings and photos, recordings and some inappropriately funny prank fixtures.

+experience | venture down to amsterdam's red light district, a seemingly forbidden part of the city where a concentration of prostitution and sex-oriented businesses can be found. take the experience to the next level by viewing live erotic entertainment.

kimee received some much needed r+r in iceland, feel in love w+ paris and immersed herself in sex + drugs in amsterdam.
